Two New Directors Elected to Avenue Bank’s Board of Directors

Patrick Emery, Karen Saul elected to Avenue Bank’s Board of Directors

Nashville – Ron Samuels, President and Chief Executive Officer of Avenue Bank, announced today that shareholders have elected Patrick G. Emery and Karen Saul to the Board of Directors of Avenue Bank.

Ms. Saul and Mr. Emery are both well-known as respected leaders in the Nashville region’s business and real estate development circles. Their election was announced following Avenue Bank’s annual shareholders meeting this morning in Nashville.

Mr. Emery was associated for many years with Crescent Resources LLC and recently founded Spectrum Properties/Emery, in Nashville.

He attended the University of Oklahoma and began his career in commercial real estate in 1975 after leaving the U.S. Army. He was first affiliated with Cushman & Wakefield and later Crescent, where he developed nine new office buildings in Corporate Centre at Cool Springs.

Mr. Emery is active in numerous organizations in the Nashville region. He is Co-Chair of Cumberland Region Tomorrow, Chairman of the Cool Springs East Owners Association and has been a leader in the effort to create LandTrust 50. He is a graduate of both Leadership Nashville and Leadership Franklin.

Ms. Saul founded The HR Group, the innovative leader in employee benefits, human resources management and outsourcing. She merged her business in 2008 into Arthur J. Gallagher & Company, the third largest insurance brokerage and risk management services firm in the U.S. and fourth largest in the world.

She is a graduate of Lipscomb University and has a master’s degree in human resources development from Vanderbilt University. She was recently featured in the Nashville Business Journal “Williamson 25” list of the most influential in business and government in Williamson County, Tennessee.

Ms. Saul is also active in many organizations in the Nashville region. She is a past president of CABLE and a graduate of Leadership Nashville. She is a trustee of The Oak Hill School and serves on the advisory board of Medical Reimbursements of America, LLC, a privately held healthcare company in Franklin, Tennessee. She is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters, advisory councils for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, Cigna Healthcare and MetLife.
