Nashville, TN – Avenue Bank in Cool Springs, 101 International Drive, will host “Shred-it Day” to offer area residents a free service to reduce the risk of identity theft by safely disposing of old documents that contain private personal information.
Avenue Bank has retained the services of Shred-it, a leading on site document destruction company, to be available to the public Saturday, September 12, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
In addition, the bank will host a remote radio broadcast with WGFX-FM, 104.5 The Zone, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with their special college football program Football Saturday hosted by former University of Tennessee Defensive Coordinator Doug Mathews. The Zone will also offer a chance for listeners to enter to win two tickets to the 2009 SEC Football Championship in Atlanta courtesy of Dr. Pepper during the live remote broadcast (Go to www.1045TheZone.com for complete contest rules).
Other prizes and activities will be ongoing throughout the morning, along with free refreshments including coffee and donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts.
“We are inviting our Cool Springs neighbors to come by and have some fun with us as we kick off the football season, and offer this great opportunity to securely dispose of confidential documents. This is a proactive step that helps prevent identity theft and it is free and environmentally safe,” said Ron Samuels, Chairman, CEO and President of Avenue Bank.
Individuals may bring up to five boxes of materials to be shredded. You do NOT have to remove staples, paper clips, etc. Shred-it uses a cross-cut process to shred the paper materials into tiny confetti pieces (approximately 5/8” in size). This process takes place inside a secured, caged environment within the Shred-it truck. The material is then sent to be recycled, where it returns to the marketplace in the form of items such as recycled household paper products.
The Cool Springs location is one of four Avenue Bank branches and is located just off Carothers Boulevard at International Drive, just south of the Baker’s Bridge intersection.
